MOFT Trackable Field Wallet — Adding Location Tracking to a Card Wallet

I used a MOFT MagSafe wallet for about 8 months a while back, and now they've released a new version with a built-in location tracker. The idea of eliminating the worry of losing your card wallet altogether caught my attention, so I looked into it.

🔍 Why I'm Interested

It addresses a fundamental wallet problem

MagSafe wallets have always had a tradeoff: the slimmer they are, the less storage they offer, and more storage means more bulk. This product feels refreshing because instead of tackling that tradeoff, it solves an entirely different problem — loss. As long as you don't lose a thin wallet, it doesn't matter how thin it is.

The origami folding structure

It's interesting that the design lets the wallet lie flat and fold up while holding cards and cash at the same time. It feels like MOFT carried over the folding-stand DNA from its earlier products into how this one stores cards.

Trust in the MOFT brand

I used a MOFT MagSafe card wallet for about 8 months in the past, and I was satisfied with both the idea and the build quality. Since this is a follow-up expansion from the same brand, I have decent expectations for the quality.

🤔 Points of Hesitation

Missing price and battery info

Building in a tracker will almost certainly push the price above a typical card wallet, but the exact price and how the tracker's battery is replaced aren't specified in the source material. That needs confirming.

How much of an upgrade is it, really

If you're already using a MOFT card wallet, whether it's worth buying again just for the location-tracking feature will probably come down to your own situation.

📋 Product Features (Subjective Rating)

🛒 Before You Buy

✅ Recommended for

  • Anyone who frequently misplaces or has lost a wallet before
  • Anyone already in the iPhone MagSafe ecosystem
  • Fans of MOFT's signature origami-folding design

❌ Not recommended for

  • Anyone already happy with their current card wallet with little reason to switch
  • Android users and others outside the Find My ecosystem

🎯 Final Verdict

I like that this takes the familiar card-wallet category and adds a fresh value proposition: loss prevention. Instead of the usual slimness-vs-storage dilemma, it solves a completely different problem — and that feels very on-brand for MOFT.

Given the build quality of the MOFT wallet I used before, I have reasonable expectations for this one too. That said, it's probably best to wait for official launch details on pricing and how the tracker's battery is managed before making a final call.
