First impressions: unmistakably Apple

The AirPods Max is Apple's first over-ear headphone. From the design to the features to the noise cancelling, everything feels like classic Apple - hardware and software working together seamlessly.

The sound quality isn't quite hi-fi tier, but the integration with Apple devices is excellent, and spatial audio is genuinely fun, which is why it's become the headphone I reach for most often while working from home.

Living with it day to day

The noise cancelling is genuinely great: It blocks out ambient noise so effectively while I'm working from home that it really helps me focus. It gets remarkably quiet.

Auto-switching between Apple devices is a huge convenience: Switching automatically between my iPhone, MacBook, and iPad is genuinely convenient. If a call comes in while I'm watching a video, it switches over on its own.
