🔍 In-Depth Review

First impressions: is it really okay to be this small?

The DEWALT DCF850 is exactly as compact as its name suggests, but the performance is anything but small. It's noticeably shorter than the previous 887 model, which really boosts efficiency when working in tight spaces, while retaining that same solid, precise feel DEWALT is known for.

Using it in practice

Genuinely compact: I can freely work in tight spots where a regular impact driver just couldn't reach. This is what I love most about it.

The power is real: Small doesn't mean weak here. Thanks to the brushless motor, it's actually more efficient and still has plenty of power.

Solid durability: After two years of use, I haven't seen any breakdown or drop in performance. DEWALT really lives up to its reputation for reliability.

Nice extra touches: The LED light is quite bright, and the belt clip is sturdy enough to keep it clipped to your belt while you work.

2-year review

I've used it for everything — furniture assembly, home repairs, all kinds of DIY projects — and it's never once let me down. It really shines when working in cramped spaces, and that's when I think to myself, "glad I bought this."
