Nothing Headphones (1) Pro - The See-Through $399 Over-Ear

I came across the Headphones (1) Pro, the higher-end model of Nothing's first over-ear headphones. The inside of the ear cups is slightly visible through the design, and I found myself staring at the photos for quite a while.

✨ 3-Line Summary

📸 Product Tour

One ear cup has a transparent window, and the silver frame contrasts with the black cushions.

Here they are being worn. The light-colored headband and silver ear cups go well together.

A close look at the black connector joining the headband and ear cup, and the aluminum texture.

You can see the components behind the transparent window, the red accent, and the engraved model name.
🔍 Why I Got Interested
An identity built on transparent design
Nothing is a brand that has built its own identity on showing what's inside. I like that it carries that direction into over-ears too.
The impression of materials and finish
The contrast between the silver frame and the matte black parts in the images looks clean. I'd need to confirm exactly what the materials are, but the finish looks good.
A challenge to the market
It's interesting to see a product enter the space held by Sony, Bose, and Apple on the strength of design.
🤔 What Gives Me Pause
The price isn't small
At $399 it competes head-on with rival products, so the sound quality and ANC have to justify it. I haven't been able to confirm that yet.
Will the transparent window hold up?
Since it's a visible part on the outside, I worry about scratches and dirt.
📋 Product Features (Subjective Ratings)
- Design: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Portability: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (bulky, being an over-ear)
- Practicality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
- Value for money: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (before performance is confirmed)
🛒 Pre-Purchase Checklist
✅ Recommended for
- People who choose audio gear by design too
- People who want to match the rest of the Nothing lineup
❌ Not recommended for
- People whose top priority is sound quality or ANC performance
- People who prefer light, compact earbuds
🎯 Final Verdict
The Headphones (1) Pro is a product that wins you over with design before features. Whether it's worth $399 is something I can only tell after reading more reviews on sound quality and noise cancelling.
For now I'm just enjoying it with my eyes, and I plan to look again once it launches in Korea and real reviews come out.
