SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro - A Smart Camping Fan Without an Outlet

A fan you can use on the patio and then just take straight to the campsite — being able to use it anywhere without worrying about an outlet is a pretty appealing story for someone who's serious about camping gear. And supporting Matter over Wi-Fi on top of that makes it look like it holds its own as a smart home fan too.

🔍 Why I'm interested

Connects straight to smart home, no hub needed

Most smart appliances I've dealt with so far really needed a separate hub to work properly, so supporting Matter over Wi-Fi directly — connecting without a hub — lowers the barrier to entry quite a bit.

The freedom that 3-way power gives you

Being able to run it on battery, AC, or USB-C means you can use it in the living room and then just toss it straight into your camping bag on the way out. That kind of flexibility feels pretty rare for a circulator fan.

21dB low-noise mode

I also like that it drops to as low as 21dB in sleep mode. It sounds like something you could use without noise stress whether you're in a tent at the campsite or in the bedroom.

🤔 What gives me pause

The battery weight is something to accept

Since it packs in a battery capable of 70 hours of runtime, it's probably going to be a bit heavier than a typical desktop fan. Worth keeping in mind if you're after truly ultralight camping gear.

Smart features aren't essential

The Matter connectivity is a nice draw, but if you don't have a smart home ecosystem, it honestly just ends up being one well-made cordless fan and nothing more.

📋 Product Features (Subjective Rating)

  • Design: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
  • Portability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
  • Practicality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Value for money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

🛒 Before You Buy

✅ Recommended for

  • Anyone looking for a cordless fan for camping or car camping
  • Anyone already using a smart home system like Apple Home or Alexa

❌ Not recommended for

  • Anyone who wants ultralight gear with zero battery weight
  • Anyone for whom a cheap fan without smart features is good enough

🎯 Final Verdict

The concept of a fan you use in the living room and then just carry straight out to the campsite is genuinely practical. I think the biggest strength is that combining 3-way power with direct Matter support means one seasonal appliance can cover a lot of different situations.

You do have to account for the battery weight, but considering the $119.99 price tag, it looks like a pretty reasonable choice for a smart home fan. I'd like to put this on my camping gear list for this summer.
