Jackery Explorer 100D: A 96Wh Power Station the Size of a Softball

I always thought power stations were big and heavy, but this one is about the size of a softball. Its look, which resembles a vintage transistor radio, caught my eye right away.

📸 Product Tour

The front display shows the input and output watts and the remaining battery at a glance

It is small enough to sit next to a laptop without getting in the way

The webbing strap and the orange slit vents stand out

🔍 Why It Caught My Eye
Leaving out the inverter
The D series drops AC output entirely. Without the inverter, which produces heat and takes up space, it shrank to a size that sits on a desk without a fan. If your devices charge over USB-C, this is a sensible choice.
Capacity just under 100Wh
96Wh sits just below the 100Wh limit that lets you carry a battery onto a plane without special approval. The official description says it can charge a recent smartphone more than 4 times and a 14-inch laptop about once. Being small enough to bring on business trips and vacations is appealing.
A screen you can read
The small display shows the input and output watts, the remaining battery, and the estimated runtime, and it also shows battery health, cycle count, and internal temperature. A low-current charging mode keeps power flowing to low-draw devices such as smartwatches and earbuds.
🤔 What Gives Me Pause
No AC
If you plan to run an electric blanket or small appliances, this one does not fit. Start by sorting your devices by whether they charge over USB-C.
Price and availability in Korea
The launch price and whether it will be sold in Korea still need confirmation. Whether it is worth the money compared with a high-capacity power bank depends on the price.
📋 Product Traits (Subjective Ratings)
- Design: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Portability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Practicality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
- Value for money: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The price is still unknown, so this rating is open
🛒 Pre-Purchase Checklist
✅ Recommended for
- People who need a small power source to charge a laptop and a phone together
- People who want a power source to keep on the table at a stylish camping setup
❌ Not recommended for
- People who need to plug in 220V appliances
- People who put capacity per dollar first
🎯 Final Verdict
I like that the design boldly drops AC to shrink the size. 140W over USB-C covers a laptop, and at 850g it slips into a bag easily.
The price has not been announced, so I cannot say anything definitive. Still, anyone who moves between camping, cafés, and business trips should put it on the shortlist.
